Gavin Doherty
Dr. Gavin Doherty is an Associate Professor and Fellow of Trinity College Dublin, the sole college of the University of Dublin. He has led a range of interdisciplinary projects looking at Human Computer Interaction issues in specific application domains, including healthcare and software development.
His current research focus is on the design of engaging mental and behavioural health interventions, mobile healthcare applications, momentary assessment, and the application of machine learning to m-Health applications. Within Lero, he has also had an interest in visualisations to support multicore performance optimisation. The software performance and security and privacy research themes of ALECS are of most relevance to his research.
Dr. Doherty has published over 90 papers in venues such as CHI, MobileHCI, JAMIA, IJHCS, TSE and ACM Computing Surveys. He is a member of the ACM Distinguished Speaker Committee and the ACM European Chapters Committee. He co-founded SilverCloud Health, a worldwide provider of online mental and behavioural health interventions, and has collaborated with a range of industrial partners, including Intel, IBM and Microsoft Research.
