Ita Richardson
Prof Ita Richardson, Department of Computer Science & Information Systems, University of Limerick, is a Co-Principal Investigator within Lero – the Irish Software Research Centre and a sub-theme leader with the Health Research Institute at the University of Limerick.
Prof Richardson undertakes research on Connected Health in hospitals, clinics and homecare, with a focus on the older person and clients with Intellectual Disability, examining how the introduction of software and technology changes processes and care pathways. She also studies software processes, particularly Global Software Development.
She is currently leading research collaborations with IBM, Ocuco, HomeSafe Care, Brothers of Charity, University Hospital Limerick group, Bons Secours Hospital and Limerick Enterprise Development Board.
Prof Richardson has graduated 14 PhD students and 1 Habilitation student to completion, is currently supervising 8 PhD students, some of whom are part-time and industry-based and has supervised Senior Research Fellows and Research Fellows for the past 15 years. Prof Richardson has over 200 publications in refereed journals and conferences, book chapters and edited books.
